Sumac
Farms have had quarter horses
since 1989. Our intention is to produce top quality,
user friendly performance horses.
It all started with three good mares purchased from Texas :--

Blend' out of 'Poor Boys Jeree' by
'Handy's Poor Boy'
'Tell Tail Skip' by
'Starrific' out of 'Do Tell Tailwind' by 'Royal Tailwind'.

On a trip to the 2003 NRHA
Futurity in Oklahoma, Sumac Farms purchased lot 2008
in the "Breeders Showcase sale" - namely  "Laceups" a
1994 Palomino mare by "Hollywood Dunnit"
out of "Lacey Jay Dalton" by "Boss'
Nowata Star", who was bred in foal to "Smart Like Juice". A second mare was
purchased while in Oklahoma "The Golden Surprise"
a 1997 palomino mare by "Surprise Enterprise"
out of "Topsails Charmer" by
"Topsail Cody."

AWARDS
We received a certificate from the American Quarter Horse Association congratulating us on 10 years of Breeding.
A plaque was also awarded to us by the A Q H A as breeder of 'Sumac Hot Skip' AQHYA high point Champion in 2003 - born 2000 out of Tell Tail Skip by Hickory Dickory Hot.
2005 our first season in Reining produced 4 trophies with Sumac Hot Zodiac and many other well placed ribbons.
2006 More well placed ribbons in some tough classes and 2 winning trophies, with Sumac Hot Zodiac and The Golden Surprise.
Also Sumac Hot Sundance received 7 championships in Hunter classes. Congratulations to him and his owner Katie Gloade.
2007 our two 3 year olds ~
Sumac Diamonte & Sumac Juiced Up ~ were well placed in futurities (tying with each other in PEI) and became NRHA money earners. Thanks to Mona Lewis and all her hard work.
