We are fifteen minutes from the Trans Canada Highway and New Glasgow, in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, located in approximatly 460 acres of private woodlands, and 2 kilometers from the beach.
We added a new facility in 2002 which was
designed to our specification, and built to the very highest standards.
For horse accommodation there are fifteen luxurious 12x14ft rubber floored, heated stalls, including a wash stall. Adjoining this barn is a 200x66ft heated indoor sand arena with viewing lounge. Beyond that, an outdoor arena of similar size, and a round pen.
The buildings are surrounded by six large grass paddocks, with post and rail fencing and safe automatic water bowls. There is a six kilometre ( 3¾ miles ) trail round the lake on the property, for the exclusive use of the owners and boarders at the facility, with as many as six other trails leading on and off the main trail.
The original facility is by the Home Farm, the beach and guest houses.
That barn has six horse stalls (across from the llama stalls) with
under floor heating, and is surrounded by 4 large (post and railed) pastures
and smaller turnout areas.
The two barns are 4kms apart by road. (less on horseback by beach and trails).
**NB All horses visiting Sumac are required to be vaccinated against Flu, Tetanus, Rhino & Strangles.
